An ordinary retractable leash imagined into an “enhanced” version that uses common IoT hardware and software: sensors, actuators, wireless connection, and apps. The intent to make an augmented object connected to a digital service.


"Enhanced” Smart Retractable Leash: App

Provide a safe and comfortable walking experience for both dog and owner. Allowing the leash to connect to phone by scanning a barcode, provide location and step tracking, reflector/light safety sensors, heated handle, as well as an auto locking system that controls the length of the leash.

GET CONNECTED APP

App Description

This app is an informative parent portal that allows parents to have access to important events/news within the gym, team roster, and ability to request parent meetings, makeups, and private lessons. Many parents are unable to make it to their gymnasts’ practices do to work and other obligations, so I wanted to create an app that helps parents stay in the loop from home or on the go. I also want parents to have the opportunity to request things like parent meets as I know many parents do not get to see or hear the progress of their gymnasts unless at a competition. This allows for coaches and parents to have a better communication about their gymnasts.


GV-GO

With college students on the go, GV-GO is an app that enhances the dining experience. Students can pre-order their meals, pay on the app, and have it ready for pick-up in minutes. If you cannot come right away, no worries! There is an option to reserve a hotbox so your food doesn’t get cold.


Food Matters

Objective: Design a solution that facilitate the food experience at Grand Valley State University’s Allendale campus.
